DPWH Bids Out P51.5-M Local Road Improvement Projects for 3rd District of Batangas
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has released the invitation to bid for six (6) local road rehabilitation and improvement projects in Sta. Teresita, Sto. Tomas and Tanauan City, Batangas Province.
In a report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Batangas 3rd District Engineering Office OIC-District Engineer Gil Agarri said that the projects that were bid out include the rehabilitation and improvement of 1.85-lane kilometer local road in Barangay Pacifico, Sta. Teresita town with an allocation of P14.85 Million and the .2-lane kilometer rehabilitation of Barangay San Fernando in Sto. Tomas City with an allocation of P1 Million.
Tanauan City on the other hand will be the recipient of the four (4) remaining local road projects namely: 1.85-lane kilometer asphalt overlay of Barangay Banjo East road, Tanauan City with an allocation of P12.375 Million and another 1.738-lane kilometer in the same barangay with an allocation of P9.9 Million; 1.234-lane kilometer asphalt overlay of Barangay 4 road in Tanauan City with an allocation of P12.375 Million; and the 0.132-lane kilometer rehabilitation of Barangay Pantay Matanda road in Tanauan City which received an allocation of P1 Million.
“Local roads that are properly-maintained are crucial as these infrastructure provide our Kababayans direct safe and fast access to employment, social, health and education services,” said Secretary Villar.
Similar with the procurement activities of other DPWH offices nationwide, the public bidding for the projects were livestreamed via the DPWH Batangas 3rd DEO’s official Facebook Page on March 2, 2021 in compliance to Department Order 87, s. 2020: Electronic Submission and Receipt of Bids for the Procurement of Civil Works Contracts.
“We also hope to get the best deals from these livestream bidding as we aim to further intensify efficiency and transparency in our procurement activities for our projects funded under 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA),” added Secretary Villar.
