A new central business district is rising in Bacolod
A lifestyle mall, residential condominiums, offices and lush parks are just some of the things that highlight the township lifestyle at The Upper East.
The recent Colliers Philippine Property Market Report highlighted the fact that, even before the pandemic, there has already been a growing interest for residential developments outside Metro Manila.
Bacolod City is one such city that offers a lot of benefits to those looking for a home beyond the National Capital Region. These challenging times have shown how preferences of property buyers have changed because of the pandemic: refreshing spaces, less dense urban location, safety and security, and topnotch amenities. These are conveniences that allow homeowners to have access to everyday opportunities that will nourish their health and well-being.
Bacolod City’s new CBD
Poised to become Bacolod City’s first masterplanned mixed use community is The Upper East by property giant Megaworld. Inspired by the dynamic city of New York, the 34-hectare township will be home to Bacolod’s newest central business district, as well as residential condominiums, malls and commercial centers, mixed use buildings, state-of-the-art office towers and hotels.
It will also feature its own transport hub, church, green and open parks, and a central plaza featuring creative urban art installations. Future residents of the township will surely love the privilege of enjoying an urban environment while still being surrounded by nature inside the township—a sought after component by most urban dwellers, especially in the age of the pandemic.
“We are excited to see the beautiful transformation of this side of Bacolod gradually coming to fruition. Bacolodnons who enjoy success from all over the world, especially those who spent their childhood here, can now go full circle and relive their memories as they come home and create new legacies here at The Upper East,” said Jennifer Ann Palmares-Fong, vice president for sales and marketing of Megaworld Bacolod.
One feature of this township is the 30-meter wide, six-lane Upper East Avenue that will stretch for around one kilometer and will connect Lopez Jaena Street to the Circumferential Road. Other roads inside the township will be at least 20 meters wide.
The 14-story One Manhattan offers a variety of unit cuts tailored to the various lifestyles of Bacolodnons.

“This is our third residential condominium development within The Upper East, with more generous unit layouts and sizes and unique amenities. Our loft units are the first of their kind here in the city since we hope to give the best for Bacolod,” Palmares-Fong added.
Since the launch of the first residential condominium development in The Upper East in 2018, prices of condo units in the township have already appreciated by 40 percent.
