Pampanga is dubbed as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines. Colonial, folk, or exotic—you can taste all these foods when in the province.

And yes, they can really cook!

Thus, if you live in an affordable house and lot in Pampanga, you are actually residing in a place where every day is a feast.

There is more to Pampanga than its food, however.

    Why live in Pampanga

Discover why the province is now considered as the hotspot for living and lifestyle. Below are some of the most important reasons to choose Pampanga as you and your loved one’s permanent residence.

    1) Top choice for suburban living

Metropolitan living has numerous perks, and so are perils—from traffic congestion to a growing population. The biggest drawback, however, is the lack of green spaces.

Pampanga is quite the opposite when it comes to the last aspect. There are built environments, and then there are natural attractions in the province. Miyamit Falls, Mt. Arayat National Park, Puning Hot Spring, and Candaba Swamp are just four of them.

Not to mention, Mt. Pinatubo trekking is always on the bucket list. If you are in Pampanga, crossing this one out from that list would be much more comfortable.

Living close to nature is also emphasized. That’s why residential developments are explicitly designed to accommodate open spaces. Lush greeneries surround some communities—you may see them from your window. The picturesque mountain range is your next-door neighbor.

Speaking of living here in Pampanga, the place has several residential options, including houses and lots and condo buildings.

    2) Friendly locals

The Kapampangans are some of the most hospitable locals that you’ll meet.

Also, they understand basic English, which is a big help if you are a foreigner assigned or vacationing here or an expatriate wanting to relocate to the province.

You have to ask, and they are willing to help you. At times, they take the initiative to ask you if you are lost or need anything.

They can be loud, but for the right reasons. For instance, they tend to talk louder when seeing a friend from way back when or a relative who they saw again after so many years.

Other than that, the Kapampangans are proud of who they are as well as their race. They are compelled to stay in the place for both patriotic and sentimental reasons.

One major event that proved how resilient the Kapampangans are was the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991. They came together and triumph over the challenges throughout the years.

They also take risks when they have to. Thus, it is not uncommon to learn one or two members of households working abroad.

    3) Low cost of living

Since it is a province, the cost of living is lower than Metro Manila, for instance, or other key cities in the Philippines such as Cebu, Bacolod, and Davao.

One can stretch your funds daily, more so if you know where the locals go, eat, buy, shop, etc.

This is also important for the Kapampangans who love the good life and the finer things in life. They go “malling” on weekends for a stroll or watching a movie.

People flock to Clark. However, things and experiences are a bit pricey here, considering foreigners' volume in the area. If you are going out, try to explore other places to maximize your disposable income.

Any occasion is also a reason for celebration, perhaps because it is their chance to showcase their culinary expertise. So don’t be surprised to learn that the Kapampangans spend huge on these occasions.

    4) Sustainable growth

Sustainability is important nowadays. And Pampanga is taking heed.

The provincial government devised Pampanga Megalopolis Plan, which is a comprehensive urban plan.

With sustainable growth in mind, the plan intends to use natural resources in developing physical infrastructures, among others.

Commercial districts are also on the way and have specific requirements to build them in the most environmentally friendly manner.

No wonder why Pampanga is dubbed as the growth center of Luzon. Soon, it will be a hub of tremendous opportunities.

Such developments will include an industrial park within a mixed-use area where future relocators may provide job opportunities for the locals.

The same goes for the commercial district and recreational facilities, which will need hundreds to thousands of people to man the operation.

Educational and medical facilities will undoubtedly contribute to these opportunities as well.

    5) Plentiful leisure destinations

In Pampanga, there are many places to explore and leisurely pursuits to accomplish.

For one, when SandBox by Alviera was introduced in Porac, the place became an adventure destination. There are many firsts in the adventure park, including the rollercoaster zipline—it’s the first in the Philippines and Asia.

These are family-friendly adventures, so don’t be worried even if you have small kids. Both of you will surely enjoy the place.

The fun never ends in the province because of its truly Kapampangan festivals such as the Hot-Air Balloon Festival and Giant Lantern Festival.

Pampanga is also known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines. Expect merriment as soon as September first. The locals take pride in their lantern-making capabilities, which is truly one of a kind.

    6) Gateway of the north

    The province is strategically located.

If you live in Pampanga, you practically have easy access to other equally exciting and explore-worthy provinces and cities in the north.

Not just here in the Philippines, though, because Clark houses its own international airport with daily flights to at least nine countries and other parts of the Philippines. Additional three terminals are set to be completed by 2025.

Clark is also known as the Economic Haven of Asia Pacific, so it is only fitting to consider doing business here.

This is also an opportunity that you may prepare for so that when Pampanga becomes an aerotropolis, you are one step ahead. It will surely be teeming with commercial establishments and services for sure.

Furthermore, going around Pampanga and the nearby areas will be easier once the Manila-Clark Railway Project is completed in 2021.
