  • MANDALUYONG CITY, Small city with a bustling economy

Mandaluyong City is once again given recognition as a Wealth Center hub thanks to the investments in the city that constantly increases every year.

Despite being the second smallest city in Metro Manila, Mandaluyong is one of the most attractive cities to invest both local and foreign businesses. This is due to its strategic location – right in the middle of Metro Manila – and for its business-friendly environment that boasts of low real property taxes. The local government, currently headed by Mayor Menchie Abalos, had previously reduced the number of steps in the application of business permits and licenses. By 2017, it already has over 16,300 business registrations translating to more than P204 billion worth of investments during the first quarter of 2018.

The bustling economy of Mandaluyong City can easily seen by the number of manufacturing companies, numerous commercial establishments and residential towers in its jurisdiction. It was once, and still is, branded the City of Malls as seen in the numerous shopping complex around the city but its impressive tax collection and business investment profile has earned it the title “Tiger City of the Philippines.”

Mandaluyong City’s excellence in good financial administration and business friendliness and competitiveness were already recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through four consecutive Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awards since 2015.

Among the local government’s services brought by its good financial housekeeping are the intensified nutrition program “Manda 1000” that ensures the health of pregnant mothers and the first 1,000 days of their babies, the acquisition of various new medical and dental supplies for its city hospital, annual infrastructure programs (roadworks, housing and street lightings), and the allocation of uniforms, footwear and schools supplies of every public elementary and high school student of the city.

Proof that the city doesn’t only excel but improves its services every year, Mandaluyong City lives up to its slogan “Gawa, Hindi Salita. Mandaleño Disiplinado.”
