Look! Morong Park (formerly Morong Town Plaza)
Formerly known as Morong Town Plaza. For a long time, this Plaza was the venue for the town’s annual sports league. However, in 2010, the place was converted to a park where you can witness one of the arts of Mr. Pacheco, the “Ang Pamilyang Magsasaka” sculpture. Also, a statue of Tomas Claudio was placed. Claudio is the first Filipino hero who died during WW1 in Germany, fighting for world peace.
Located in Barangay San Pedro, formerly known as the Town Plaza, it is just in Morong’s old Municipal Building. This building was the former seat of the office of the governor of Rizal during the Distrito Politica de Morong, also known as the “Commandancia.” The Park includes statues of famous people, and one of them was Tomas Claudio, a war hero during World War I. He fought during the war when he was sent to Cantigy, France, and the Tomas Claudio Memorial School was established as a tribute to him in 1921. Also, one of the masterpieces of the Father of Palm and Finger Painting, Mr. Rafael Pacheco’s “Ang Pamilyang Magsasaka” sculpture.
