LGU-Psinan groundbreaks another housing project

Governor Amado I. Espino III led the groundbreaking ceremony on December 10, of the Provincial Tenement Homes and Public Parks Project, another housing project of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan intended for low-income families that will consists of 540 dwelling units.
Located at Brgy. Libsong East in Lingayen, the Provincial Tenement Homes project that will consist of nine buildings where each facility will have five storeys, has a total land area of 16,101 square meters or 1.61 hectares.
As disclosed by Provincial Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Office Chief Alvin Bigay, the project will set a “benchmark for multi-storey residential development in the province and provide the end-user a valuable asset of lasting quality and integrity.”
Based on the project profile, the housing site will feature a landscaped public park with recreational facilities. The development will feature infrastructure facilities such as well-paved concrete roads with curb and gutter and water and power supply distribution system.
In addition, the units will have four types with a typical floor area of 24 square meters with provision for a living area, dining area, toilet and bath and a pocket balcony. The architecture of the units will be minimalist.
As to the technical profile, each building will have a total of 60 units while the monthly rental or amortization shall offer three options to include, Option 1- graduated amortization on 1st to 10th year and on the 11th to 25th year is regular monthly payment; Option 2- fixed monthly amortization ranging from P1,500 to P3,000 per month; Option 3- five years monthly rental with the option to buy the unit after five years.
Target beneficiaries are the provincial government/municipal employees, public school teachers and other workers who can qualify under the Beneficiary Selection Criteria to be promulgated by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan.
Proposed project funding of the project in the initial stage is estimated at P200 million for the construction of five tenement buildings and P30 million for the land development works and other amenities. Subsequent phases will be funded from sales proceeds of the project.
Joining the governor in the groundbreaking were: Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, Provincial Engineer Antonietta De Los Santos, Provincial Planning and Development Officer Benita Pizarro, Provincial Information Officer Orpheus M. Velasco and Chief Administrative Officer Irmina Francisco. Rev. Fr. Genaro A. Herramia officiated the blessing of the project site.
