Laguna Technopark
The City of Santa Rosa has suddenly emerged as an urban center in the past years. It became the heart of commercial and industrial activities in CALABARZON. One of the locations in the said city which truly reflects the industrialization is the Laguna Technopark Inc.
Amkor is one of the companies inside L.T.I. (Established in 1989 through a joint-venture among AyalaLand Inc., Mitsubishi Corporation and Kawasaki Steel Corporation, Laguna Technopark hosts almost 100 companies of different industries such as electronics, industrial gas, automotive, printing and many others which clearly conveys how developed the city is. These variety of companies and organizations which chose to invest in L.T.I. had (and still today) opened more job opportunities not only for the people of Santa Rosa, but also for the whole Filipino community. Moreover, L.T.I. aims to develop the industrial state of Biñan City and Santa Rosa City and to become the hub of Laguna’s technological progression. This 387 hectares of industrial companies is in the northern portion of the city, where the city’s economical improvement is clearly booming(Laguna Technopark Site, 1998).
Situated at the 3rd and farthest gate of Technopark (Behind L.T.I.’s gigantic contribution to Santa Rosa’s fast improvement lies its good-looking and organized structure. Evidently, transportation is very much accessible and manageable for everyone. There are several possible routes that will lead to L.T.I., through the national road, Mamplasan Exit and Greenfield. Via Greenfield route, it would take about 10 to 15 minutes of travel before arriving at L.T.I. The main entrance can be reached the fastest via the latter and it is in the intersecting lanes along Paseo De Santa Rosa. The construction of L.T.I. is very suitable and appropriate for workers who are living just outside its premises. Residences, bedrooms or even apartments to rent which are typically at Barangay Malamig(Biñan), Brgy. Don Jose, Laguna Bel-Air Subdivision and Mercado Village(Santa Rosa) are very near Technopark. People who stay at the said places are more likely to travel in just about 5-10 minutes to get in their jobs in L.T.I. (if they have one!).
Greenfield is the developer of L.T.I. (http://bit.ly/sUymy8)
Inside the vicinity of L.T.I. are roads which connects the different established companies. Different cars roam around it, most specially the very Filipino-oriented automobile called jeepneys (dyip) which routinely goes back and forth to seek passengers who normally are workers of Technopark’s companies. Perhaps, because of its vast land and huge number of companies, L.T.I. was divided into four main gates (Gates 1, 2, 3 and 4). Each passage has terminals where jeepneys and some tricycles park and wait for passengers to arrive. The nearest terminal through the main entrance is the gate 1 where commonly, Mamang tsupers (jeepney drivers) starts their trips or “ikots” all over Technopark and end their exhausting yet productive day.
The greenery of Technopark (At first glance, Laguna Technopark would be a place compose of a bunch of high-standard association. Well, if this is how others look at it, they are totally wrong. Truly, riding and basking around L.T.I. will expose to anyone the mere presence of industrialization in Santa Rosa however, setting aside the fascination to the large and wide buildings in it will reveal the green beauty it possess. Big strong acacia and ipil-ipil trees are still at their finest, grasses such as carabao and bermuda still lingers on the bare lands of the park, it seems like the background of the entire premise is GREEN. The industrial park has never fail to give the right importance and attention to the environment. Basically, L.T.I. defies the contrary between nature and industrialization through building a nation together with helping nature to be always at its very best.
