The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is nearly done with a creek wall protection project that will ensure flood level reduction and riverbank protection along Bilibiran Creek in Binangonan, Rizal Province.
Based on a report from DPWH Regional Office 4A Director Samson L. Hebra, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the flood mitigation structure is now 86.76 percent completed.
“To protect lives and properties in this flood-prone area, DPWH Rizal First District Engineering Office (DEO), is now hastening construction works of a 270.30-meter creek wall to guarantee that it finishes on time,” Secretary Villar added.
Set to complete on February 2020, the flood control project, started May 2019, has a total budget of P24-million.
Bilibiran Creek, along with River Lasi, Darangan, and Gupiing Creek, is a tributary of Laguna Lake that serves as a natural drainage in the Municipality of Binangonan.
