If you aren’t tired of hearing this already, the highlands of Tagaytay is home to the best panoramic view of Taal Volcano. Restaurants of various cuisines are aligned throughout General Emilio Aguinaldo Highway; and for added relaxation, you can book a room at a hotel with a lake view to unwind with your loved ones over the weekend. If you’re young at heart, you can visit the amusement park at Sky Ranch and go on thrilling rides.

2. Katungkulan Beach Resort

Although this place is actually a Philippine Marine base, this is a public beach that is comparable to the famous white-sand beach that it earned the nickname “Boracay De Cavite.” This beach resort is located inside the Gregorio Lim Marine Base. Surprisingly, not a lot of people are aware of this place because of the fear of being denied entrance. But once you actually do enter, the place is social media-worthy, and you don’t have to spend for a flight for a holiday getaway. You can even see Corregidor Island and the Mariveles Cordillera in Bataan from view.

3. Patungan Beach Cove

If you’re looking for an alternative beach to visit, that’s much more accessible, you can try this one in Maragondon. Enjoy the mountain views and natural landscape while you can, because this area is not yet heavily commercialized compared to other destinations. Since they are also known for their fishing villages, you should try to dine and eat local specialty dishes. If you live in the city, you only need a two-hour drive to get there.

CULTURAL TOURISM

The desire to explore the history, lifestyle, ethnic background of a place for immersion and educational purposes. Cavite is not the Historical Capital of the Philippines for nothing; their roots can be dated all the way from the pre-Hispanic period, yet the colonial history of three centuries can be traced through different landmarks throughout the province.

1. Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine

This shrine is home of the first president in the Philippines and the location where the first Filipino Flag was waved to symbolize the country’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898. This house was donated to the government and operates today as a museum from Tuesday to Sunday.

2. Corregidor Island

The island of Corregidor was where the joint forces of Filipino and American soldiers defended the entrance of Manila Bay from Japanese invaders during World War II. Today, this monument displays the artilleries and structures that signified the Filipino heroism during the war. THis is a popular destination for schools to go on field trips, together with the other historical sites that we mentioned in this blog.

3. Fort San Felipe

Dated as far back as the 17th Century, this old structure was built by the Spaniards as protection for the growing city. The granite blocks that the walls were made of were approximated to be 30 feet high. The top of the fort can be reached through a wide stairway; and naval memorabilia like antique cannons and cannon balls decorated the fort’s lawns.

ADVENTURE TOURISM

What makes this different from the aforementioned category would be the engagement with the natural environment. We’re talking about the wildlife, landscape and scenery in the countryside. Activities like birdwatching, camping, diving, hiking, fishing or just relaxing at a natural park are ideal for this type of tourism.

1. Cabag Cave

There are three popular caves in Cavite and Cabag comes out on top for spelunking lovers. With a waterfall at the mouth of the cave, there is a small pool at the bottom. The 50-meter underground river passes through a lush greenery in the cave. Ideal for friends seeking an exciting outdoor adventure.

2. Pico De Loro

Translated to “Parrot’s Peak,” this firm stone tower is one of Cavite’s best natural attraction. If you’re a mountain climber, this is the highest peak you can climb in Cavite, but it’s not recommended for new mountain climbers.

3. Pantihan (Balayungan) Falls

While Laguna is considered more popular when it comes to waterfalls, you still shouldn’t underestimate the beauty of Cavite. The Pantihan (Balayungan) Falls is known for its water that trickles on the face of a cliff wall. If you feel like basking in nature, you can set up a picnic in the nipa huts located on top of the falls.
